11th ERDT Congress

In a developing economy such as ours, accelerating research and application of science and engineering to solve complex problems becomes challenging in the face of constraints in physical resources and infrastructure. Such constraints and challenges may be addressed by fully harnessing the power of computation to uncover the information hidden in data to understand, model, simulate, create, design, harness, operate, optimize, or forecast the behavior of complex systems or phenomena. The use of “smart systems” – data- and computationally-driven systems – deserves further exploration as a potential strategy to achieve the various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The design, deployment and use of such systems however requires dealing with massive volumes of data, careful application design, and the use of appropriately-architected computational systems.

Recognizing the need to share best practices and research findings, and to further develop the community of designers and users of smart systems, both the 11th Engineering Research and Development for Technology Congress and the High Performance Computing and Networking Conference 2023 (HPCN 2023) are coming together on November 23-24, 2023 with the following common theme: Smart Systems for Sustainable Development.

The 11th Engineering Research and Development for Technology Congress (11th ERDT Congress) will feature ongoing and completed R&D efforts in the academe, particularly those that employ advanced computational techniques to understand, model or design smart systems geared towards addressing the SDGs.
